Capital Corporation (Current)
Founded in Victoria, Gustavson Capital Corporation (GCC) follows a mandate of fostering entrepreneurialism and is currently investing in small to mid-market companies across a broad range of sectors.

Founder, President & CEO, Custom House Ltd (1992-2009) Peter founded Custom House Ltd, one of the world's largest nonbank foreign exchange companies, and guided it through more than 17 years of growth up until its sale to Western Union in September 2009 for $370 Million USD. At that time, it operated over 75 branches in seven countries, counted in excess of 40,000 corporate customers worldwide and employed approxi-mately 650 people. Under Peter's leadership, Custom House was named by Deloitte as one of the"50 Best-Managed Companies in Canada" for 7 years in a row, receiving Platinum Club status in 2008 and 2009.

Paul Lennox
President

Paul has over 20 years of financial markets experience including 16 years in foreign exchange. Paul was the Treasurer and a member of the executive team at Custom House for 10 years. He helped build Custom House into a $400 million dollar global FX and payments company. Paul is passionate about the FX business. He is a CFA charter holder, has a BA in Economics and was formerly an officer in the Canadian Navy.

Briony Bayer
CFO

Briony has over 10 years of experience in the foreign exchange business. Briony was the Director of Finance at Custom House where she was responsible for managing several functions including financial accounting, tax, audit, and global facilities management. Briony’s background also includes tenure as VP Finance, Corporate Secretary and member of the board of the directors for a publicly traded software development company as well as several years of experience with KPMG in the Victoria, Frankfurt, and Silicon Valley offices. She is a CPA, CA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria.

Marlene Tripple
Chief Compliance Officer

Marlene assumes responsibility for the development, oversight and effectiveness of the EncoreFX Compliance Regime. She ensures the company and its employees are adhering to the laws and regulations for where the business operates, including compliance with internal anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing policies and procedures. Marlene is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist with 15 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. Prior to joining EncoreFX, Marlene was responsible for the development of various Compliance programs and systems with Non-Bank Financial Institutions including Western Union and Custom House Ltd. She is a graduate of the University of Victoria, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences and a Criminology Diploma from Vancouver Island University.

George Zhu, PhD
Chief Information Officer

George has over 13 years in the foreign exchange business. George was a senior software developer and at Custom House, Global Foreign Exchange where he was responsible for the design, implantation, and maintenance of the business’s systems. George continues his Career at Western Union Business Solutions becoming the development team’s Lead Architect and managed a large team of developers being responsible for the overall architecture of the enterprise. In 2015, George was promoted to the IT Director and was responsible for managing the agile development team tasked with developing new compliance and regulatory systems. George has held senior roles as a developer and liaison between systems and business in the Foreign Exchange industry for over a decade. George holds a PhD in Engineering for pattern recognition and artificial intelligence.

Fraser Jeffries
SVP, Global Business Development

Fraser has over 30 years experience working in the financial services Industry. Originally from a banking background, Fraser has held many senior management positions at non-bank foreign exchange companies, most notably at Custom House, where he had operational responsibility for the company's international network.

Fraser holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Auckland University.

Ian Taylor
Executive VP Corporate Development

Ian has more than 30 years experience within the foreign exchange and payments industries. Lead and was responsible for foreign exchange businesses from $500 million to $200 billion in turnover, 60 to 750 people globally situated, experience leading retail, wholesale and corporate focused foreign exchange and payments businesses.

At Custom House, expanded from 4 countries to 7 countries while recruiting, building and leading a global sales team; growing revenues from $28 million to $110 million in 5 years before a successful sale to a Fortune 500 public company in 2009; while generating margin in excess of 30%.

As COO, successfully sold a US based corporate foreign exchange business on behalf of shareholders to a UK based global foreign exchange business for rapid US expansion.

As EVP Corporate Development, Ian is focused on growing EncoreFX's footprint and revenues.

Tara McGoldrick
Country Manager - Australia

Tara has over 15 years’ experience in the foreign exchange and international payments industry. She has held dealing and leadership roles across several top FX companies, including Corporate Dealer at Travelex, Corporate Dealing Manager at Western Union Business Solutions and most recently joined EncoreFX as the National Manager – Australia.

Chris Wilson
Country Manager – New Zealand

Chris has over 20 years’ experience in the foreign exchange industry. He has held dealing, business development, and leadership roles across several markets, including General Manager UK for Custom House, VP Sales Europe for Western Union Business Solutions, and most recently Country Manager for Western Union Business Solutions in New Zealand.

Philip Gans
VP Finance

Phil has over 10 years of experience in the foreign exchange industry including senior finance positions with Western Union Business Solutions and Custom House. In addition to accounting roles with CGA-Canada, Uniserve and KPMG, Phil has extensive experience with business strategy, financial planning & analysis and business intelligence reporting and solutions. He holds a professional accounting designation, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria, and has completed an executive course in Driving Corporate Performance at the Harvard Business School.

Cecilia Watts
VP Credit

Cecilia has over thirty years’ experience in the financial services industry including over 13 years in Foreign Exchange and Credit Management. Prior to joining EncoreFX, Cecilia was Director of Credit & Risk Finance at Western Union Business Solutions (formerly known as Custom House). She began her banking career in South Africa where she was an Interbank and Corporate Money Market Trader for both Barclays National Bank and Rand Merchant Bank. She brings her strong credit and financial markets experience to EncoreFX where she assumes global responsibility for Credit and Risk Management. Cecilia has a Diploma in Business Management and various Certificates in Banking and Credit.

Kevin Neufeld
SVP Business Development

Kevin is a veteran sales professional with over 25 years of experience in direct selling, sales management and consulting. He has experience in a variety of different industries including banking, insurance, automotive, real estate and software. He is passionate about getting results and his unique outlook on the service side of selling allows companies he works with to not only maximize their potential in sales, but to feel good about the profession of selling. Kevin holds a BA from the University of Victoria.

Paul Bregg
VP FX Dealing

Paul Bregg, B. Comm, CFA brings seven years of FX dealing experience to EncoreFX. He most recently ran a very active Treasury trading desk for a Fortune 500 company. Paul has a true passion for the currency markets with particular expertise in risk management and options strategies. Paul successfully completed the rigorous requirements of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute in 2012 and was awarded his charter in 2013. Paul received his Bachelor of Commerce from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.
